Expect 1 to 4 inches of snow tonight, mixed with rain, freezing rain and sleet, the National Weather Service warned as it issued a winter weather advisory from 5 p.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Add to that a light glaze of ice and you might want to slow down while driving, the service suggested. Its advisory covers Cortland, Tompkins, southern Cayuga, Onondaga, Broome, Tioga, Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca and Yates counties.

Temperatures will be in the upper 20s to mid-30s, although higher elevations can expect to see more snow and ice.
