Two new COVID-19 cases reported in Cortland

Two new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Tuesday in Cortland, the state Health Department did not reports, bringing the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,100.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 21 new cases Tuesday and one death, the state reported. The three counties have seen 59,220 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus has risen to 410.

  • One new COVID patient was admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Monday, the state Health Department reported Tuesday. The hospital had two COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 852 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID; that number was last updated Dec. 30. The state Health Department reports 311,977 tests have been administered. The state has reported 134 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw nine new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 26,087. The state reports 3,068,125 tests have been administered. Ninety-nine Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw 12 new cases Tuesday, and one death, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,033. The state reports 403,867 tests have been administered, and 177 people have died.
