Storm watch canceled for Cortland

Expect 1 inch Monday night, but not 6, as storm tracks east

The National Weather Service has canceled a winter storm watch for the greater Cortland area for Monday night and Tuesday, reducing its prediction to about an inch of snow rather than 6.

The storm coming up the Eastern Seaboard will still drop more snow to the south and east of Cortland County, perhaps 3 to 4 inches in Broome County, but the worst will fall farther east and south than that, up to a foot in parts of Pennsylvania.

However, more snow is still coming Cortland's way, forecaster said. They expect up to 2 inches to fall Tuesday night and a chance of snow showers Wednesday.
