Kennedy campaign seeks signatures in Cortland

Presidential candidate Robert R. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign will have a petition-signing open house from 2 to 8 p.m. April 16 at the Crescent Commons community room at 165 Main St., Cortland, the campaign has announced.

The event is to collect signatures to place Kennedy’s name on the November general election ballot as an unaffiliated candidate.

Any registered voter who has not already signed a designating petition, and who is qualified to vote for an office, may sign an independent nominating petition for that office, state election law states. Kennedy would need 45,000 valid signatures to win a spot on the ballot.
