Most beloved Judith A. Green, passed away Sunday March 12th after a brief illness.

Judy was born on October 19th, 1942 in Cortland NY, the daughter of the late Depuy W. Freer and Erma Van Buskirk Freer.

She graduated from McGraw High School in 1960 and received her bachelors degree from Cortland State University in 1964.

She was a kindergarten teacher in DeRuyter for 20 years before moving to Anderson SC and continuing her teaching career for another ten years.

She was a loving wife to her husband John I Green who predeceased her in 2015. She was the mother of two boys; Richard (Amy) Osborne Jr., and James Green.

She was a loving, faith filled soul who her close friend Shelby O’Connell called, “an angel on earth”.

She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with Shelby and Maxine Cleveland, her closest friends; who were fellow teachers from DeRuyter.

She and John loved to travel, often going on trips with her brother Stuart (Stub) Freer, who passed away in 2013, and his wife Barb; who she considered a sister, and spoke with from Colorado every Sunday at 4:00.

Judy was very involved in her McGraw class of 1960 events.

She is also survived by her three grandchildren who she cherished; Morgan (Vincent) Seibel, Hunter (Lauren) Osborne and Drew Osborne; as well as her four great granddaughters, Olivia and Sawyer Osborne; and Reese and Parker Seibel.  She held a special place in her heart for her two step grandsons; Nicholas and Noah Mosca.

She was a treasured person to so many, including family members; Ray and Lorraine Osborne, Joan and Gordon Stewart, Shelley and Mike Freer of Colorado; Jane and Greg Sherwood of Virginia and her nieces Nikki and Deanna, and so many friends who she always stayed in contact with.

Her daughter in-law said it best “She’s so easy to love”.

An intimate celebration of her life will be held on May 6th at her home. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
