Guthrie ends drive-thru testing

Guthrie Cortland Medical Center will no longer operate its COVID-19 drive-thru testing location in the parking lot across the street from the main entrance of the hospital, the hospital announced Wednesday.

The final day of service will be Friday.

People can still receive COVID-19 testing at the Guthrie Cortland Walk-In Clinic at 3993 West Road in Cortland. The clinic entrance is on the left of the building.

Clinic hours were recently expanded to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekends.

People arriving for a COVID-19 test should have an order from a provider. Cost depends on your insurance carrier.

Cortland County: 1 new case

Cortland County reported one new case of COVID-19 on Wednes- day, the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began rising to 13,684, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported six new cases Wednes- day, the state reported. The three counties have seen 61,635 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 426.

  • No new COVID patients were admitted Tuesday to Guthrie Cor- tland Medical Center, the state reported Wednesday. The last admis- sion was April 17. The hospital had four COVID patients. The state reports 320,834 tests have been administered. The state has reported 137 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw five new cases Wednesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases remains 27,131. The state reports 3,081,694 tests have been administered and 103 people have died.

  • Cayuga County saw one new case Wednesday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,820. The state re- ports 420,161 tests have been administered, and 186 people have died.
