Four people have been charged in a methamphetamine operation when the Cortland County Drug Task Force searched a home Friday on Monroe Heights in Cortland and found more than 2 ounces of meth, Cortland County sheriff's officers said.

The drug task force, city police and the state police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant about 1:43 a.m. Friday at the home seeking Thomas Joseph on an active arrest warrant.

What they found was Joseph and three others, who police had said broke into the home in the college hill area of the city and were making methamphetamine.

Police arrested:

-- Dana P. Perreault, 31, charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, second-degree burglary and first-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, felonies.

--  Thomas C. Joseph, 26, charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, second-degree burglary and first-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, felonies.

-- Michaela L. O'Neill, 28, charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, second-degree burglary and third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, felonies.

-- Christian T. Rogers, 30, charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, second-degree burglary and third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, felonies.

Perreault and Joseph were charged with first-degree meth manufacture because they both have a prior conviction of second-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, police said.

All four were arraigned in Cortland City Court and sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail pending appearances Wednesday in city court.

Police say the investigation continues.
