Five new COVID-19 cases reported in Cortland

Five new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Wednesday in Cortland, the state Health Department did reports, bringing the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,105.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 23 new cases Wednesday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 59,248 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 410.

  • Two new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Tuesday, the state Health Department reported Wednesday. The hospital had three COVID patients. The state Health Department reports 312,098 tests have been administered. The state has reported 134 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw 11 new cases Wednesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 26,098. The state reports 3,068,313 tests have been administered. Ninety-nine Tompkins residents have died.

  •  Cayuga County saw 12 new cases Wednesday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,045. The state reports 404,135 tests have been administered, and 177 people have died.
