The Cortland boys and girls track and field teams both fell to Chittenango Wednesday at Cortland Junior-Senior High School, with the boys losing 87-53 and the girls losing 88-51.
On the boys side, Cortland won six of the 17 events. The Purple Tigers took wins in the 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, shot put, discus, high jump and long jump.
Iniko Abani led the way with first-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (16.9 seconds) and high jump (5 feet, 10 inches). Bryan Honan won both the shot put (44 feet, 8 inches) and discus (139 feet, 6.5 inches). Reed Smith finished first in the 400-meter hurdles (66.5 seconds) and Eugene Aharkov won the long jump (16 feet, 7 inches). Abani and Liam Burns also tied for first in the 100-meter dash (11.9 seconds).
Abani also took second place in the 200-meter dash (24.1 seconds). Michael Dearie took second place in the shot put (40 feet, 11 inches) and the discus (126 feet, 2.5 inches). Liam Grant took second in the triple jump (33 feet, 3 inches) and third in the 400-meter race (59.5 seconds). Liam Burns came in third in the 200-meter dash (24.6 seconds) and Liam and Ryan Burns finished second in the high jump (5 feet, 2 inches). Jacob Mones finished third in the 800-meter race (2:21.9)
The Cortland girls won five events, taking wins in the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, shot put, pole vault and the 4x100-meter as a team.
Campbell Bush finished first in the 100-meter hurdles (16.9 seconds), Bailey Dintino finished first in the 200-meter dash (28.4 seconds), Alivia Reif won the shot put (24 feet, 7 inches), Ashley Merritt won the pole vault (7 feet, 6 inches) and the 4x100-meter team of Bush, Merritt, Dintino and Isabella Sisting finished first with a time of 53.7 seconds.
Dintino took a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash (13.6 seconds). Sisting finished second in the 200-meter dash (28.8 seconds) and pole vault (6 feet) and finished third in the 100-meter dash (13.9 seconds). Merritt finished second in the high jump (4 feet, 4 inches), Maude Terwilliger finished second in the triple jump (26 feet, 4 inches), Ruby Mullally finished second in the 400-meter race (69 seconds) and Kartyr Hubbard finished second in the 400-meter hurdles (86.1 seconds). Brianna Bergene also finished third in the 800-meter race (2:45.1).
Both teams compete again at 4 p.m. Friday in the Onondaga Central Track Invitational at Onondaga Central.

Sophie Kennett won three events for the Homer girls –– the 100-meter hurdles (18.1 seconds), long jump (12 feet, 11.75 inches) and pole vault (6 feet, 6 inches) –– and Shelley Yang took first in two events –– the 400-meter race (72.6 seconds) and triple jump (27 feet, 7 inches) –– to lead the Trojans to a big win. Shelley Yang also came in second in the 100-meter dash.
Lauren Franco finished first in the 400-meter hurdles (80.6 seconds), Ingrid Aagaard won the 800-meter race (2:31.6), Natalie Funk placed first in the 200-meter dash (31.7 seconds), Molly McMasters won the discus (91 feet, 6 inches) and was second in the shot put, Hannah Bouwens finished first in the shot put (31 feet, 4 inches), Franco and Madison Head tied for first in the high jump (4 feet), Amelia Wagner was second in the 100-meter hurdles and 1,500-meter race, Angela Yang came in second in the 400-meter race, Evie Schneider placed second in the 400-meter hurdles and Alyssa Swayze came in second in the 3,000-meter race. The 4x800-meter relay team of Mia Knight, Schneider, Maggie Mahunik and Swayze won with a time of 12:12.6, the 4x100-meter relay team of Natalie Funk, Taylor Chisholm, McMasters and Franco won with a time of 59.2 seconds and the 4x400-meter relay team of Franco, Kennett, Knight and Aagaard placed first with a time of 4:41.9.
Oliver Kida won the 110-meter hurdles (17.7 seconds), long jump (16 feet, 8 inches) and pole vault (8 feet, 6 inches) to lead the Homer boys. Kida also finished second in the 400-meter hurdles. Damian Brown won the 1,600-meter race (5:22.7) and came in second in the 3,200-meter race, Tristyn Henkel placed first in the 400-meter race (59.0 seconds), Kyler Crump won the 400-meter hurdles (66.7 seconds), Anderson Lowell finished first in the 200-meter dash (25.3 seconds), Tasker Dennis came in first in the discus (127 feet, 11 inches) and was second in the shot put, Donavin Brown was second in the 110-meter hurdles, Nick Costa came in second in the 100-meter dash, Aidan Small was second in the 800-meter race and Gabe Mendiola finished second in the high jump.

Laci Prignon had four singles and a double in Dryden’s doubleheader agaisnt Lansing Tuesday to lead the Lions’ offense. Chloe Russell hit a single, double and triple, Rayna Cole singled in each game, Abby Turco, Kennessey Drake and Lillian Ellis all singled in the first game and Brook Webster hit a single in the second game.

DRYDEN 13, WINDSOR 12
Brendan Williams scored his sixth and final goal of the game with 25 seconds left to help Dryden win its second game in a row and move to 5-3. The Lions won the fourth quarter 3-2. Williams finished with three assists as well.
Brayden Wood contributed three goals, Kai Riggs and Tyler Jones each notched a goal and an assist and Finn O’Brien and Luke Eshelman both scored a goal. Hunter Covington stopped 10 shots for the Lions.

Abby Ensign paced Marathon with a 48, Savanna Warfield and Kendre Euson followed her up with a 50, Liz VanCise shot a 55, Gabbi Smith carded a 56 and Audrey Ensign’s 61 was cancelled out.
Caraline Wasileski led Moravia with a 56, Allison Kehoe shot a 57, Gabby Heim had a 61, Morgan Johnson contributed a 71 and Chloe Phillips had a 72.
