Cortland and Tompkins counties remained ata medium risk of coronavirus spread, the federal government reported late last week.
Chenango County was reduced to low risk, and Madison County remained at low risk, and the remaining counties surrounding Cortland remained at medium risk.
Cortland County had 83 new cases of COVID-19 between Feb. 10 and Wednesday, giving it a rate of 174.44 cases per 100,000 people, the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports.

Cortland reports 32 new COVID cases
Cortland County reported 32 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,498, the state Health Department reports.
Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 38 new cases Saturday and Sunday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 60,815Four cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 417.

Tompkins -- 82,121 have received both shots, or 79.9% of the population; 26.4% are up to date.
Cayuga -- 47,005 have received both shots, or 60.9% of the population; 14.8% are up to date.
Statewide -- 15.36 million have received both shots, or 76.5% of the population; 13.9% are up to date.
