Cortland reports five new COVID cases

Cortland County reported five cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 12,854, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 26 new cases Wednesday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 58,091 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 399.

  • No new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Tuesday, the state Health Department reported Wednesday. The hospital had four COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 819 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID; that number was last updated Friday. The state Health Department reports 307,227 tests have been administered. The state has reported 131 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw 20 new cases Wednesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 25,569. The state reports 3,061,104 tests have been administered. Ninety-seven Tompkins residents have died.

  •  Cayuga County saw six new cases Wednesday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 19,678. The state reports 396,603 tests have been administered, and 171 people have died.
