Cortland reports five new COVID cases

Cortland County reported five cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 12,849, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 11 new cases Tuesday, and one death, the state reported. The three counties have seen 58,060 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus has risen to 399.

  • No new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Monday, the state Health Department reported Tuesday. The hospital had three COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 819 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID; that number was last updated Friday. The state Health Department reports 307,106 tests have been administered. The state has reported 131 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw eight new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 25,549. The state reports 3,060,878 tests have been administered. Ninety-seven Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw three new cases Tuesday, and one death, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 19,672. The state reports 396,318 tests have been administered, and 171 people have died.
