Cortland reports 9 new COVID cases

Cortland County reported nine new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,166, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 21 new cases Tuesday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 59,613 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus has risen to 412.

  • Two new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Monday, the state Health Department reported Tuesday. The hospital had four COVID patients. The state Health Department reports 313,259 tests have been administered. The state has reported 134 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw eight new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 26,239. The state reports 3,069,944 tests have been administered. One hundred Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw 13 new cases Tuesday, and one death, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,208. The state reports 406,144 tests have been administered, and 178 people have died.
