Cortland reports 7 new COVID cases, 1 death

Cortland County reported seven cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, and one death, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 12,812, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 17 new cases Tuesday, and a death, the state reported. The three counties have seen 57,795 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus has risen to 397.

  • Two new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Thursday, the state Health Department reported Friday. The hospital had nine COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 812 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID; that number was last updated Nov. 10. The state Health Department reports 305,719 tests have been administered. The state has reported 131 deaths.
  • Tompkins County saw 10 new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 25,408. The state reports 3,058,588 tests have been administered. Ninety-seven Tompkins residents have died.
  • Cayuga County saw seven new cases Tuesday, and one death, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 19,576. The state reports 394,069 tests have been administered, and 169 people have died.
