Cortland reports 6 new COVID cases

Cortland County reported six new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,229, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 42 new cases Wednesday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 59,859 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 413.

  • No new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Tuesday, the state Health Department reported Wednesday. The hospital had five COVID patients. The state Health Department reports 314,079 tests have been administered. The state has reported 135 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw 27 new cases Wednesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 26,334. The state reports 3,071,139 tests have been administered. One hundred Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw 15 new cases Wednesday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,296. The state reports 407,633 tests have been administered, and 178 people have died.
