Cortland reports 3 new COVID cases, 1 death

Cortland County reported three cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, and one death, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 12,935, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 28 new cases Tuesday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 58,496 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus has risen to 401.

  • One new COVID patient was admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Monday, the state Health Department reported Tuesday. The hospital had two COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 834 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID; that number was last updated Friday. The state Health Department reports 309,089 tests have been administered. The state has reported 132 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw 19 new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 25,776. The state reports 3,063,752 tests have been administered. Ninety-eight Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw nine new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 19,785. The state reports 399,326 tests have been administered, and 171 people have died.
