Cortland reports 11 new COVID cases

Cortland County reported 11 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 12,865, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 37 new cases Thursday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 58,149 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 399.

  • Three new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Wednesday, the state Health Department reported Thursday. The hospital had six COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 822 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID; that number was last updated Wednesday. The state Health Department reports 307,442 tests have been administered. The state has reported 131 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw 31 new cases Thursday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 25,600. The state reports 3,061,419 tests have been administered. Ninety-seven Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw six new cases Thursday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 19,684. The state reports 396,856 tests have been administered, and 171 people have died.
