Cortland reports 1 new COVID case

Cortland County reported one new case of COVID-19 on Friday, the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began rising to 13,652, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported nine new cases Friday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 61,503 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 423.

  • One new COVID patient was admitted Thursday to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, the state reported Friday. The hospital had nine COVID patients. The state reports 319,634 tests have been administered. The state has reported 136 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw six new cases Friday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 27,069. The state reports 3,080,039 tests have been administered. The county reports 102 residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw three new cases Friday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,782. The state reports 418,150 tests have been administered, and 185 people have died.
