Cortland County reports 11 new COVID cases

Cortland County reported 11 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,072, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 37 new cases Thursday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 59,076 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 408.

  • Two COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Wednesday, the state Health Department reported Thursday. The hospital had six COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 852 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID; that number was last updated Dec. 30. The state Health Department reports 311,511 tests have been administered. The state has reported 133 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw 24 new cases Thursday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 26,031. The state reports 3,067,408 tests have been administered. Ninety-nine Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw 13 new cases Thursday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 19,973. The state reports 403,070 tests have been administered, and 176 people have died.
