Christmas Eve shooting on Church Street reported

City police are following leads in the Christmas Eve shooting of an 18-year old woman on Church Street, but no arrests had been made as of midday Tuesday, according to Police Chief Paul Sandy.

The woman was shot at 11:43 p.m. Dec. 24 on Church Street between Elm Street and Central Avenue, police said Tuesday. She was treated at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and released, according to a news release issued by city police.

Police said this is an isolated incident.

Sandy said no one has been arrested as of early Tuesday afternoon.

“We’re actively pursuing leads,” Sandy said.

He declined to provide additional information.
