2 COVID cases reported in Cortland

Cortland County reported two cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 12,725, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 22 new cases Tuesday, and one death, the state reported. The three counties have seen 57,425 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus has risen to 393.

  • Five new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Monday, but none Friday, the state Health Department reported Tuesday. The hospital had eight COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 797 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID; that number was last updated Oct. 28. The state Health Department reports 304,175 tests have been administered. The state has reported 129 deaths.
  •  Tompkins County saw 16 new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 25,230. The state reports 3,055,927 tests have been administered. Ninety-six Tompkins residents have died.
  •  Cayuga County saw six new cases Tuesday, and one death, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 19,470. The state reports 391,374 tests have been administered, and 168 people have died.
