National Night Out fills the Homer Village Green

Police from across the greater Cortland area spent Tuesday evening on the Homer Village Green  for National Night Out.
 
Demonstrations from 4 to 8 p.m., plus a "rascal race" at 5 p.m., DWI demonstration at 5:15 p.m., an announcement by the Homer Fire Department at 5:45 p.m, a basketball rodeo at 6 p.m., as well as a corn hole competition.
 
Homer and Cortland police, state police, SUNY Cortland police, state Environmental Conservation police, the Homer and Cortland fire departments will all be there.
 
SUNY Cortland and Cortland police gave up their dogs for cuddles and pets. Environmental Conservation Officer Andrew Kostuk showed animal pelts and other natural objects. Fire safety, crash simulators and a variety of service organizations were on hand.
 
The event also featured pony rides, face painting and a mammogram van.
