Specialist to discuss children’s resilience in Homer

A specialist in helping children become more resilience and improving their well-being will speak March 20 at a seminar in Homer.

Tammy Goddard of the Devereux Center for Resilient Children to lead an interactive session, “Building Your Bounce,” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the H-Tec conference room at Homer High School in a presentation sponsored by the school district and Seven Valleys Health Coalition.

The seminar will introduce the Devereux Adult Resilience Survey and ways to identify strategies to improve resilience-related behaviors.

Resilience is learning to adapt to adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or stress, reports the American Psychological Association.

A light dinner will be provided from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. for those who register by March 17 at bit.ly/BYB3202025.

Childcare is available for Homer families only, who register. Walk-ins are welcome for the presentation portion of the evening.
