MARCH PROGRAM AND EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
For Adults
• Songs of the Shakers: Musical History with Liam Lawson at Southworth Library in Dryen. Lawson will perform his new arrangements of traditional Shaker songs and discuss the history of Shaker music in a free concert at 7 p.m. March 20.
• Computer Café: Empower Yourself With Computer Knowledge, Phillips Free Library. A video and practice at 1 p.m. March 13.
• Waterway of Change: Women and the Erie Canal, Phillips Free Library. Elizabeth Farrell from the Erie Canal Museum will discuss the opportunities the Erie Canal had to offer to women at 6 p.m. March 13.
• Sweet 60 and Up!, Phillips Free Library. Everyone 60 and older is welcome for an introduction to Tai Chi and Chi Gong, or a wood craft from 1-2 p.m. March 21, followed by live music at 2 p.m.
• DIY Beaded Bracelets with Melanie Maroney, Kellogg Free Library, 6 p.m. March 20. Registration required, $15 admission.
FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES
Story Hours
•10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Cortland Free Library: Baby/Toddler Time. Rhymes, stories and songs for children from birth to age 2 and their caregivers. Registration recommended.
•9 a.m. Wednesdays, Phillips Free Library: Knee High Storytime. Stories, songs and crafts appropriate for toddlers and preschool children with their families.
•10: 30 a.m. Thursdays, Cortland Free Library: Preschool Story Time. Stories, songs and activities. All ages welcome, but this program is designed for children ages 3 to 5. Registration recommended.
•10 a.m. Fridays at Kellogg Free Library for ages 0-5.
•10 a.m. Friday at Southworth Library, Dryden: Storytime with crafts, snacks, and more for all preschoolers and their families.
• 6 p.m. March 20, Phillips Free Library: Sensory Story Time. Interactive stories and songs, accommodating various needs. All children welcome. This month’s theme: Spring.

• Saturdays at the Library, Southworth Library, Dryden: Family programs at 10:30 a.m.. March 8: Cornell Canine Companions for our Paws to Read program. March 15: Miss Angie’s Music for a toe-tappin’, wiggly music party. March 22: Regi Carpenter and Lee Ellen Marven for a storytelling adventure.
• Science Fair, Phillips Free Library. The Science Fair Prep group will present their Science Fair projects from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 28.
• Barnyard Bonanza, Cortland Free Library. The 2024 Cortland County Fair Queen Court shares farm animal stories, a craft and an activity at 6 p.m. March 18. Registration requested.
