A Cortland County legislature committee will consider on Tuesday a contract with Kone Inc. for the maintenance of all elevators and lifts in county buildings.
The Building and Grounds Committee will meet at 9 a.m. in the Cortland County Office Building on Central Avenue to consider Kone Inc., based in Syracuse, for the service. Kone Inc. was the only company to submit a proposal.
“The elevators, lifts and traction lifts in existence have been in place for an extended period of time, which requires consistent preventative maintenance as well as the ability to respond in a timely fashion in the event of a service call,” the resolution states.
Kone Inc. would charge $1,575 per month to provide the service. For services outside the scope, the company would charge $285 per hour for regular time and $425 per hour for overtime.
The committee will also consider continuing a contract with CivicPlus, an information technology service management company, to provide website accessibility services for $4,641.
Also Tuesday, the Highway Committee will consider, when it meets at 10 a.m., appointing the airport citizens advisory committee, appointing the Dwyer Memorial Park advisory board and authorizing the landfill amnesty credit for municipalities.
If approved, each municipality would receive a $2,700 credit. The landfill tipping fee is $90 a ton.
“The Highway Committee of the Cortland County Legislature believes that the municipalities of Cortland County will be better served by authorizing a credit to be used at the Cortland County Landfill for the disposal of waste other than garbage at no charge,” the resolution states.
