Carmen Bishop (126 pounds) and Leontine Evans (235 pounds) each earned dominant victories in Groton’s first home meet of the season. Carmen Bishop earned a 45-second pin, while Leontine Evans won by a 12-2 tech fall. Leontine Evans defeated Ellisa Bly for the third time this season after Bly earned three wins over the Red Hawk last year.
Remi Marshall (114 pounds) also picked up a win by pin and Phoebe Bishop (94 pounds) won by forfeit for Groton. Brooke Sovocool (120 pounds) fell by a 7-4 decision. Horseheads received forfeit wins at 107, 132, 138, 165 and 185 pounds.
HOMER 39, HORSEHEADS 19
Mya Locke’s (120 pounds) 13-second pin and Gracie Newman’s (138 pounds) 44-second pin paced Homer in its first dual win of the night. Alayne Riley (114 pounds) and Eila Spanbauer (165 pounds) also both won by pin and Brielle Nels (132 pounds) earned a victory by tech fall. Kylee Rawson (100 pounds), Jocelyn McDermott (145 pounds) and Molly Sorenson (152 pounds) also earned forfeit wins.
Brookelyn Henry (107 pounds) and Anna Aldrich (126 pounds) were the only Trojans to lose a match, falling by pin and tech fall, respectively. Horseheads received a forfeit at 185 and 235 pounds.
HOMER 35, GROTON 19
Mya Locke (120 pounds) was the only Homer wrestler to win a match, pinning Groton’s Brooke Sovocool. Brookelyn Henry (107 pounds), Brielle Nels (132 pounds), Gracie Newman (138 pounds), Jocelyn McDermott (145 pounds), Molly Sorenson (152 pounds) and Eila Spanbauer (165 pounds) all won by forfeit for the Trojans.
Phoebe Bishop (100 pounds) won by 10-0 tech fall over Homer’s Kylee Rawson, Carmen Bishop (126 pounds) pinned Homer’s Anna Aldrich and Remi Marshall (114 pounds) won by injury forfeit over Alayne Riley. Zavanna Evans (235 pounds) also won by forfeit for the Red Hawks.
