Mark April 26 on the calendar if you have old or unused medication to get rid of — that’s the date of the next Cortland County Drug Takeback, Cortland County Sheriff Mark Helms has announced.
The event will be:
•9 a.m. to noon at the Cortlandville Fire Department.
•9 to 11 a.m. at the Cincinnatus Fire Department.
•9 to 11 a.m. at the Marathon Village Green, outside the high school.
The event is operated by the sheriff’s office, fire departments of Cortlandville, Marathon and Cincinnatus and Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
The event is a safe and environmentally friendly way to discard of old or unused medications, Helms said via social media. The takeback can accept any quantity of medications, however, it cannot take liquids or sharps such as needles or epipens.
