Accused: Robert J. Morris, 48, Penguin Drive, Cortlandville
Charges: Endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, a felony; harassment, a violation
Details: Cortland County sheriff’s officers were called to the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, 134 Homer Avenue, Cortland, on Wednesday for allegations of elder abuse. An investigation showed Morris has physically abused an elderly person he knew, sheriff’s officers said. Morris was arrested around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Legal Actions: He was released without bail, and is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Cortlandvillle Town Court.
