Cortland reports 7 new COVID cases

Cortland County reported seven new cases of COVID-19 Friday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,616, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported eight new cases Friday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 61,246 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 419.

  • One new COVID patient was admitted Thursday to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, the state reported Friday. The hospital had nine COVID patients. The state reports 318,339 tests have been administered. The state has reported 135 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw two new cases Friday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 26,935. The state reports 3,077,829 tests have been administered. The county reports 102 residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw six new cases Friday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,695. The state reports 415,298 tests have been administered, and 182 people have died.
