Cortland reports 6 new COVID cases, 1 death

Cortland County reported six new cases of COVID-19 Friday, and one death, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,190, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 22 new cases Friday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 59,712 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus has risen to 413.

  • One new COVID patient was admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Thursday, the state Health Department reported Friday. The hospital had three COVID patients. The state Health Department reports 313,506 tests have been administered. The state has reported 135 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw nine new cases Friday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 26,277. The state reports 3,070,418 tests have been administered. One hundred Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw 13 new cases Friday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,245. The state reports 406,777 tests have been administered, and 178 people have died.
