Cortland reports 4 new COVID cases

Cortland County reported four new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, raising the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began to 13,223, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 16 new cases Tuesday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 59,811 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 413.

  • Two new COVID patients were admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on Monday, the state Health Department reported Tuesday. The hospital had six COVID patients. The state Health Department reports 313,962 tests have been administered. The state has reported 135 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw seven new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 26,307. The state reports 3,070,915 tests have been administered. One hundred Tompkins residents have died.

  • Cayuga County saw nine new cases Tuesday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,281. The state reports 407,374 tests have been administered, and 178 people have died.
