Cortland reports 1 new COVID-19 case, 1 death

Cortland County reported one new case of COVID-19 on Friday, and one death, the number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began remaining 13,688, the state Health Department reports.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported five new cases Thursday, the state reported. The three counties have seen 61,662 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus has risen to 428.

  • One new COVID patient was admitted Thursday to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, the state reported Friday. The hospital had two COVID patients. The state reports 321,192 tests have been administered. The state has reported 138 deaths.

  • Tompkins County saw three new cases Friday, the state Health Department reported. The number of confirmed cases rose to 27,145. The state reports 3,082,237 tests have been administered and 103 people have died.

  • Cayuga County saw two new cases Friday, the state Health Department reported. Confirmed cases rose to 20,829. The state reports 420,919 tests have been administered, and 187 people have died.
