15 new cases in Cortland County

Cortland County saw 15 new cases of COVID-19, the state Health Department reported Friday, bringing the county to a total of 11,464 cases since the pandemic began.

Tompkins and Cayuga counties reported 93 new cases, the state reported Friday. The three counties have seen 50,610 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. The number of people who have died from the virus remains 362.

- One new COVID patient was admitted to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center Wednesday, the state reported Thursday. The hospital had eight COVID patients. Since the pandemic began, 675 Cortland County residents have been hospitalized for COVID. The state Health Department reports 285,056 tests have been administered. The state has reported 121 deaths.

- Tompkins County saw 68 new cases, the state Health Department reported Friday. The number of confirmed cases rose to 21,606. The state reports 3,009,762 tests have been administered. Eighty-six Tompkins residents have died.

- Cayuga County 25 new cases, and one death, the state Health Department reported Friday. Confirmed cases rose to 17,540. The state reports 361,802 tests have been administered, and 155 people have died.

164,077 received COVID vaccine

The state Health Department reports 29,478 Cortland County residents have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, or 61.6% of the county’s total population. A total of 58.2% of the county has been fully vaccinated, and 72.8% of the eligible population has received a booster.

In Tompkins County, 85,092 people have received at least one dose, or 82.8% of the population; 75.6% are fully vaccinated, and 75.2% of the eligible population has been boosted.

In Cayuga County, 49,507 residents have received at least one dose, or 64.2% of the population; 59.9% are fully vaccinated and 72.8% of the eligible population has been boosted.

Across the state, 16.61 million people have received at least one dose, or 90.4% of the population. A total of 77.2% have received two doses.
