The Cincinnatus girls soccer team won 8-0 over rival McGraw Monday in a 54-minute game that was called early due to thunderstorms that disrupted play all over the greater Cortland area.
Lucy Finch scored twice in the first half for the Lions, which held a 7-0 lead at halftime. Cassia Schuyler notched a goal and two assists, Ava Larabee and Jocelyn Turshman each had a goal and an assist, Payton Gerrard, Jelsie Stafford and Kendall Sustad all scored a goal and Mandi Waltz pitched in an assist.
Kinsley Raymond was forced to make one save for Cincinnatus.
The Lions play again at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at home against Otselic Valley. McGraw will continue the search for its first win at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Stockbridge Valley Central School against Madison.

Emily Petrella scored off an assist from Emma Poli in the second half in Homer’s road loss. Kennadie Taylor stopped eight shots for the Trojans.

MARATHON 10, AFTON/HARPURSVILLE 1
Kooper Cornell went off for three goals and two assists and Barrett Trabucco also added three goals as Marathon dominated its way to a 2-0 start.
Camdyn Kashuba also scored twice and Aydan Brown and Eli Ticknor scored a goal each. Colton Howe and Colton Oram each dished out two assists and Nash Coleman had an assist. Daniel Merihew made one save on the only shot he saw during play. Afton/Harpursville scored on a penalty kick.
MCGRAW 1, STOCKBRIDGE VALLEY/MORRISVILLE-EATON 0
Logan Moffitt scored off an assist from Landon Garrow in the second half of a game McGraw dominated from pillar to post. Zach Kahle made three saves to lead the Eagles to victory.
CINCINNATUS 3, OTSELIC VALLEY 1
John Schuyler went for a goal and two assists to lead Cincinnatus to its second consecutive win.
Jack Stafford put away the only goal in the first half and Caleb Souva scored the first goal on the second half. Garrett Lieb assisted on Schuyler’s goal. Collin Holtmart saved six shots in the win.

Eila Spanbauer had a great day for Homer, going for seven kills, four aces, a block and 12 digs to lead the Trojans to a 25-21, 26-28, 17-25, 25-21, 15-6 win.
Dannica Smith contributed 18 assists, two kills, five aces, three blocks and four digs, Samantha Sovocool added 13 digs, four kills, an ace, two blocks and an assist, Viviana Fox racked up 11 digs and Maria Partis had 10 digs. Izzi Tutino (six kills, one ace, one block, five digs), Mickenlee Harris (five kills, three aces, two blocks, one assist, one dig), Lauren Oustad (five assists, three digs), Cheyenne Coolidge (four digs, two aces), Bailey Dady (three blocks, one dig) and Madison Singleton (two digs, one kill) also contributed for Homer.
