Andrea Dell Virginia Hyde Rogers, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, at the age of 86. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.

Born in Cortland, New York, and a proud graduate of the North Syracuse High School Class of 1955, Andrea went on to serve her country with dedication as a Veteran US Navy Journalist 3rd Class (WAVE) stationed in Washington DC from 1960 to 1961. After her honorable military service, Andrea settled in upstate New York and lived in Syracuse, Binghamton, Cortland, and finally, Saratoga Springs. Andrea loved art and music and had many skills and interests. She worked as a tailor at Wells & Coverly Men’s Specialty Shoppe in Syracuse, studied business in college, performed as a singer with a band during the 1970’s, poured her heart into her many sewing projects, and knitted and crocheted countless cherished items for her children and grandchildren over the years. Andrea also appreciated everything about living in Saratoga; she studied the history, loved the excitement of going to the track in the summer and could be seen frequently riding her bicycle around the city. She spent time researching her family history as well, and traced and completed her genealogy.

Throughout her life, Andrea actively contributed to her community through volunteer work. She served as a senior secretary for the Bemis Heights Society Children of the American Revolution and volunteered at the NYS Military Museum in Saratoga Springs. Additionally, she held the positions of Chaplain and Recording Secretary for the Saratoga Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). Andrea’s commitment to civic duty was further exemplified by her role as a polling inspector for elections in Saratoga Springs. Andrea was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her brother, Chauncey Hyde of Arizona, and her children: Tracy Goodbred (Randall) of Milton, Florida; Terianne Rogers-Snyder (Robert) of Binghamton, New York; Tamara Rogers of Cicero, New York; and T. Patrick Rogers (Lisa) of Cortland, New York.

Her grandchildren, Jessica Goodbred, Randall Goodbred II, Eric Goodbred, Lauren Tysco, Zoey Rogers, Christian Rogers, Dylan Rogers, and Ava Rogers, brought immeasurable joy to her life. Andrea was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Asher Thomas Goodbred, Rowan David Goodbred, Brooke Avery Warren, and Emerson Gray Tysco, who she loved so much, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to the loving family members Andrea leaves behind, she was predeceased by several individuals who held special places in her heart. They include her grandparents, LaTisia Geyer Baltimore and Clay Dell Edmonds, her mother Melba (Hyde) Halpin, her beloved father Mark DeElton Hyde, stepfather, William J. Halpin, her sister Cynthia McMahon, and her dear grandson Grayson Patrick Rogers among others.

Andrea will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 U.S. Route 11, Homer. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer.
