The journey continues

The Moravia girls basketball team has never made it this far, and the story isn’t over just yet. The Blue Devils’ journey continues today at 7:45 p.m. today at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy against Section I winner Tuckahoe in the Class C state semifinals. The final awaits the winner at 5:15 p.m. Friday, with Duanesburg and Frewsburg squaring off in Thursday’s other semifinal.

Final four bound

SYRACUSE -- The Moravia boys basketball team is heading back to Glens Falls for the second straight season after using an electric start and strong finish to beat Waterville 68-50 in the NYSPHSAA Class C Regional Final Saturday at Onondaga Community College. Moravia will meet the Class V winner Lyons in the semifinals at 7:45 p.m. Friday at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls.

SYRACUSE –– Moravia’s Caraline Wasileski went for a career-high 27 points and helped the Blue Devils build enough of a lead to survive a late Hamilton run in a 64-56 win in the Class C Regional Final Saturday at Onondaga Community College. Moravia will face Section I champion Tuckahoe in the state semifinals at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Hudson Valley Community College.

The Moravia boys basketball team is back in the NYSPHSAA Class Regional Final game for the second straight season, but this time face a new opponent in a new location. The Blue Devils take on the Section III winner Waterville at 4 p.m. today at Onondaga Community College.

The Moravia girls basketball team won its first ever sectional championship on March 2 with a 50-42 win over Watkins Glen. Since achieving the feat, the Blue Devils have shifted their focus to the Section III winner Hamilton, who they meet in the NYSPHSAA Class C Regional Championship at 2 p.m. today at Onondaga Community College.

Moravia boys basketball goes back-to-back

DRYDEN -- After a less than ideal first half from No. 3 Moravia against No. 4 Delaware Academy, the Blue Devils got the spark they needed in the second half, took the lead and hung on to win their second consecutive Section IV Class C title by a score of 49-42 Saturday at Tompkins Cortland Community College. Moravia moves on to the regional round, where it takes on the Section III winner Waterville, which beat Hamilton 69-59, at a time TBA on Saturday, March 9. at Onondaga Community College.  

DRYDEN -- The No. 3 Moravia girls basketball team pulled away from No. 1 Watkins Glen in the final 30 seconds of regulation to win the first sectional title in its history with a 50-42 win Saturday at Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Blue Devils move on and play the Section III winner Hamilton, which beat West Canada Valley 55-50, Friday at 11 a.m. March 9 at Onondaga Community College.
